You have the option to take part in the Power Play each and every time you buy a Powerball ticket. In doing so, you’re giving yourself the chance to multiply any non-jackpot prize that you may potentially win.
Playing the Power Play option will add $1 to your standard $2 Powerball ticket. Once selected, make sure to pay attention to the drawing that takes place directly before the regular Powerball drawing, as this will reveal the Power Play number (2, 3, 4, 5, or 10).
Any prize that you could potentially win—aside from the jackpot—will be multiplied by the Power Play number that was drawn. See below:
Like the Power Play option, choosing the Double Play option will cost an additional $1 on top of your traditional $2 ticket. It’s an add-on that gives you the chance to win a new set of prizes using the same numbers selected for your Powerball play(s).
Unlike the Power Play drawing that takes place just before the regular numbers drawing, the Double Play numbers will be drawn directly after the regular Powerball drawing.
The Double Play drawing uses the same set of numbers as the regular one, and you win by matching your numbers to the numbers drawn. View the prize table below:
Reminder, the current Powerball jackpot is sitting at $145 million ahead of the upcoming drawing on Monday, Aug. 7 at approximately 10:59 p.m. ET. Simply to purchase your ticket(s).
