Penn plans to build a second hotel tower at its Las Vegas property. The company expects to spend $206 million to add 384 rooms to the M Resort. It will also build new properties in Illinois and Ohio as part of an overall $850 million investment. Penn recently acquired the rest of Barstool Sports. Bar stool is a sports and lifestyle media company in which Penn owns a majority stake. David Portnoy is the founder of the company. He has used his media influence to attract a younger audience to his properties. Bar Stool has a devoted following that does not have an allegiance to traditional casino operators.
