Downtown Las Vegas and Fremont Street Getting Surprise New Casino
Circa is a new resort casino on Fremont Street. It will be located on the site of a former hotel. The downtown area has a rougher reputation than the Las Vegas Strip. It's a place where you can get cheap food, live music and a photo session with street performers. Now, with the Strip exploding with new casinos, arenas and other developments, another major casino operator has set its sites on downtown for a major new project.
Red Rock Resorts operates 10 casinos in Las Vegas. Frank Fertitta III and his brother Lorenzo FERTitta run the company and its Station Casino brand. They also bought UFC for $2 million and sold it for a billion dollars in 2016.
Red Rock Resorts wants to build a new Wildfire Casino on Fremont Street in downtown Las Vegas. The project will cost $750 million and occupy more than 21,000 square feet on a five-acre plot. Red Rock wants the project to be more of a brand for locals. It has a number of Las Las Vegans-area projects underway, including the Durango Resort Casino in the Southwest Valley.
