Wednesday's Powerball Jackpot? $653 Million
CONCORD, NH — The Powerball jackpot on Wednesday is expected to be more than $650 million.
There has not been a winner since early November — 31 consecutive drawings, leading the jackpot to grow to an estimated $653 million.
A single player in California purchased a $2.04 billion jackpot ticket, the highest ever.
At $653 million, it would be the eighth-largest Powerball jackpot on record if anyone wins. The one-time cash payout, before taxes, was expected to be $350.5 million.
“We are thrilled for our New Hampshire players as the Powerball jackpot is quickly approaching the $700 million mark — a truly life-changing prize,” Charlie McIntyre, the executive director of the New Hampshire Lottery, said. “Our retailers are reporting strong sales, and we have seen activity increasing on NH iLottery as well — and we would only expect the sales volume to increase leading up to tomorrow’s drawing. Get your tickets now so you can have a chance to start off February with a New Hampshire winner.”
A $50,000 winning Powerball ticket was sold at Market Basket on Lafayette Road in Portsmouth for Saturday night’s drawing, while one was sold at Winners Corner on Mast Road in Manchester for Monday night’s drawing, officials said.
Tickets are on sale at more than 1,200 retailers statewide and online at NH iLottery.
