Mega Millions Jackpot Closes In On $400M
CONCORD, NH — Mega Millions is expected to reach $400 million on Tuesday, according to the NH Lottery.
The jackpot has been growing since October 2021 when a player in Arizona purchased a $108 million ticket, according to Charlie McIntyre, the lottery's executive director. The one-time payment, if that option is taken by the winner, is expected to be worth around $275 million before taxes.
"We are excited to see the Mega Millions jackpot heat up again, as we have already seen a strong response from our players," he said. "We generally see the pace of sales pick up considerably when a jackpot approaches the $400 million mark, and with $396 million on the line, retailers statewide are seeing that uptick in sales leading into tomorrow night's drawing."
The largest Mega Millions drawing on record was nearly $1.54 billion in October 2018.
McIntyre wished Granite State lottery players "good luck." The drawing will be held at 11 p.m. on Tuesday. Games can be played at more than 1,200 retailers around the state or online at the state's iLottery site, linked here.
