CONCORD, NH — Wednesday’s jackpot for the Powerball lottery game is expected to be more than half a billion dollars and the second highest of the year.

No one has won Powerball since early August, which has sent the jackpot to an estimated $508 million. The one-time cash payout, before taxes, is expected to be around $256.3 million.

“With over $850,000 in Powerball sales last week alone, we know the excitement is quickly building among our players, who now have a chance to win over half a billion dollars,” Charlie McIntyre, the executive director of the New Hampshire Lottery, said. “With tickets available at over 1,200 retailer locations statewide and online via NH iLottery, it could not be easier to play, so get your tickets now ahead of tonight’s drawing. Here’s hoping New Hampshire mints our newest multi-millionaire.”

Powerball drawings are held Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, at 10:59 p.m.

The highest Powerball jackpot in history was the $1.586 million drawing in January 2016. It was not only the largest Powerball jackpot on record but also the largest lottery jackpot in history. It was split between three winners in Florida, California, and Tennessee.

Tickets are on sale at more than 1,200 retailers statewide and online at NH iLottery. For more information or to play, visit nhlottery.com.
