Bally's Corp. has completed its purchase of the Tropicana. Fontainebleau Las Vegas has been under construction for 20 years. It's expected to open in 2023. The Tropicsion is expected for a transformative journey for the Las Las Vegas Strip property.
Bally's has bought the Tropicana. It will operate the property for 18 to 24 months before making any major changes. The property will be the company's western flagship. It is not taking the name Tropicaana off the marquee.
Bally's name has been taken off Caesars Entertainment's Caesar's Get Free Report property on the Las Vegas Strip. The company won't rush to rebrand the Tropicana because it makes little sense to pay for a complete teardown and rebuild. Part of a redevelopment could include building a stadium for Major League Baseball's Oakland Athletics.
