Two Billionaires Have Huge Las Vegas Strip Casino Plans
Two Billionaires Have Huge Las Vegas Strip Casino Plans. Caesars Entertainment and MGM Resorts International dominate the south and central Las Las Vegas Strip. A lot of big names have failed on the Las Nevada Strip and it's not easy to challenge the incumbent leaders. In 2023, MGM focuses on integrating Cosmopolitan and Caeres relaunches the former Bally's under the Horseshoe name.
Billionaire Tilman Fertitta bought a piece of land on the Las Vegas Strip for $270 million. He plans to build a 43-story, 2,420-room hotel/casino on it. Circus Circus owner Phil Ruffin also has plans for a casino on his property.
Ruffin owns Circus Circus and Treasure Island. He has talked to the Oakland Athletics about building a 30,000-seat stadium on the Las Vegas Fairgrounds. Tropicana and Ruffin's empty fairgrounds property are the two sites the team has held negotiations over. Ruff's 37-acres with frontage on Las Las Strip is the biggest piece of land available for any company hoping to take on Caesars and MGM.
