Huge Las Vegas Strip Casino Change Clears Major Hurdle
The Las Vegas Strip is constantly changing. Fontainebleau resort/casino on the North Strip has been on track to open in 2023. Bally's, a Caesars Entertainment-owned resort, is being removed from the property. Caeres will buy Tropicana and bring the Baly's name back to the Strip. The deal to buy the Tropicsana has just cleared a major hurdle.
The Nevada Gaming Commission approved Bally's' purchase of the Tropicana from Penn Entertainment for $308 million. Baly's will operate the property for the next 12 months. The resort will keep its Tropics name, but it could adopt Bly's branding.
The Bally's casino is being renovated and will be called Horseshoe. The sportsbook will have Guy Fieri as a partner. It will also have an all-ages arcade. Caesars has not said when it will stop using the Baly's name. The full renovation is expected to be finished by spring 2023.
