Diamond Jacks Casino Owner Must Sell Property in 60 Days
Diamond Jacks Casino in Bossier City, Louisiana, has been closed for nearly two years. The Louisiana Gaming Control Board gave Peninsula Pacific Entertainment 60 days to sell the property or it will lose its gaming license. Peninsula is in negotiations to buy Diamond Jack's from Foundation Gaming Group. The board could take P2E’s license right now, but it would rather the company just sell DiamondJacks and be done with it.
Peninsula Pacific Entertainment tried to transfer its license to southeastern Louisiana to build a new casino in Slidell, but voters rejected it. The company spent at least $3.6m on a marketing campaign to drum up votes.
Diamond Jacks casino in Shreveport, Louisiana closed in March 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. It was one of six riverboat casinos in the Shrevesport market. P2E wanted to move to St. Tammany Parish, but the move was rejected by voters. The state gave P 2E 60 days to reopen the casino.
