Compliance appears widespread as masks go back on Las Vegas
Nevada's new requirement to wear face masks in public spaces went into effect at 12:01 a.m. on Friday. Most people are complying with the new rules, but some people may be breaking them. The mandate was re-imposed by Gov. Steve Sisolak nearly two months after previous requirements were lifted. State officials say the policy is needed to slow the rise of COVID-19 metrics in Clark County and other parts of the state.
The new mandate requires people to wear masks. Some people are not complying with the edict. A few people have been given masks without being stopped. The Target near Rainbow Boulevard and Spring Mountain Road has a sign on the front door instructing people they need to have a mask. The Walmart across the street has no sign at either entrance. One man is wearing a clear face shield despite being vaccinated. He claims he has been told to get fully vaccinated and it will go back to normal. At a Target, some people bought coffees and then shopped without masks, removing them with drinks in hand.
