The Clark County Commission voted unanimously on the mandate on July 20.

Workers, whether they're vaccinated or not, must wear masks in hotels, casinos, stores, malls and clubs. But guests gathering in those public spaces are not required to wear masks regardless of their vaccination status.

Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak, following CDC guidelines, dropped the requirement for vaccinated people to wear masks on May 13. He applauded the county's move last week, as did representatives of the Nevada Resort Association and the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce.

Commissioners also voted to require businesses to post signs informing customers about a Southern Nevada Health District's indoor mask recommendation that all vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals, guests as well as employees, wear masks in crowded indoor public spaces.

Clark County reported 2,123 new Covid-19 cases last weekend, according to data released Monday. The county's test positivity rate is 14.7%. The county reports that more than 46% of its eligible residents are fully vaccinated.
