LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — With the return of EDC and the start of the summer travel season, May was another busy month in Las Vegas.

Gaming and tourism numbers all rose last month compared to May last year, according to new figures released Thursday.

Casinos on the Las Vegas Strip reported a gaming win of $742.5 million, per the Nevada Gaming Control Board, up 3.7% year-over-year.

Statewide, the gaming win was $1.32 billion, up about 2.5% from May last year.

For tourism, the visitor volume in May was about 3.66 million people, according to the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority. That's a 4.6% increase compared to May 2023.

Convention attendance also ticked up to nearly 462,000 people as shows like Waste Expo returned.

Overall hotel occupancy was 86.1%, up 1.7 points from the year-ago month, and the average daily rate exceeded $200.
