22 December Opening Date Set for Hollywood Casino Morgantown
The Keystone State’s gambling sector will this month add one more casino to its list of operators. Penn National Gaming, Inc.’s highly anticipated casino in Morgantown will finally open its doors to the public on Wednesday, December 22. The launch of the Category 4 Satellite Casino or mini-casino is still pending regulatory approvals but there is not much standing in the way of the plans.
Already, Penn National has three other Category 4 casinos operating in Pennsylvania. The launch of those was pretty smooth as the operator complied with all of the state’s regulations. We expect the same to happen for the upcoming launch of the Hollywood Casino Morgantown.
What to Expect
Unsurprisingly, Penn National has a lot in store for the patrons who will be visiting its $111 million Morgantown facility. To begin with, the space has a span of close to 80,000 square feet. That is enough to fill a whole lot of fun and Penn National has not shied away from doing just that. The casino floor will feature about 30 table games as well as up to a whopping 750 slot machines. That is just the beginning though.
Hollywood Casino Morgantown will also have a climate-controlled outdoor gaming terrace. That will be perfect for patrons looking to bask in the ambiance that can only be found in world-class casino venues. This is further complemented by the amazing set of three unique dining options. The outdoor firepit will also contribute further to the high-quality casino offering.
For sports betting enthusiasts and fans, the facility will also include a Barstool Sportsbook. Here, they will not only be able to enjoy watching sports from all around the world but also have access to betting windows and kiosks. As if that is not enough, there will also be a solid range of interactive games and an amazing Barstool Sportsbook merchandise station.
Just like its other previous casino launches, Penn National has some very interesting plans for this new facility. Before the grand opening rolls around, there are plans for two invitational-only test days. These will help the operator to iron out last-minute issues and ensure that everything else is in order.
In addition to that, the two test days will act as a way for the company to start giving back to the community. All gaming proceeds from these two days will be donated to local charitable organizations including Jarett Yoder Foundation, Honey Brook Food Pantry and United Way of Berks.
