Wayne County man runs out of his shoes after winning $472K jackpot
LANSING, MI -- A Wayne County man‘s retirement just got a whole lot easier as he won a $472,295 jackpot recently playing the Fantasy 5 game.
“I play Fantasy 5 regularly and pick my own lucky numbers based on some research I do online,” said the 38-year-old winner who chose to remain anonymous. “The morning after the drawing, I was in my garage having coffee and scanned the ticket with the Lottery app on my phone.
“When I saw the message and confetti on the screen, I dropped my coffee and went running into the house so fast that my shoes came off!”
The winner matched all five numbers selected -- 03-04-09-19-39 -- for the Oct. 28 drawing to win the jackpot. He bought his ticket at the Victor’s Market, located at 17104 Quarry Street in Riverview.
With his winnings, the lucky player say he plans on investing in his retirement.

The last players from Michigan to win a Mega Millions or Powerball jackpot is the Wolverine FLL lottery club which claimed a $1.05 billion jackpot in March 2021. With their winnings, the group plans to give back to the community.
And while they were lucky winners, it’s smart for players to check their tickets immediately as a winner worth $1 million sold in Warren in 2021 went unclaimed. The money instead went to the state’s School Aid Fund.
