Ingham County man wins $430K Fantasy 5 jackpot

LANSING, MI -- An Ingham County man got quite the shock when he logged into his Michigan Lottery account recently as he’d won a $430,194 Fantasy 5 jackpot prize. The 56-year-old winner matched all five numbers drawn -- 05-10-18-20-23 -- for the drawing on Jan. 23 to win the jackpot.
“I usually buy a few Fantasy 5 tickets at the store and a few online,” said the player, who chose to remain anonymous. “I checked my in-store tickets Sunday night and thought I didn’t win anything this drawing, forgetting about my online tickets.
“I was scrolling through my emails Monday morning while I was eating breakfast and saw a prize notification email from the Michigan Lottery. After reading the email, I knew it had to be a big prize. I logged in to my Lottery account to verify the prize and was stunned when I saw the amount pending. I woke my wife up right away to tell her what we’d won!”
He visited lottery headquarters recently to claim his prize. With his winnings, he plans on donating to charity, sharing with family and completing some home renovations.
“Winning is such a blessing! Whenever I log in to my account and see the amount pending, it doesn’t seem real. I don’t think it will hit me until I see the money in my bank account,” the player said.
