Serious sanction for Station Casinos

Station Casinos in Nevada will pay $80,000 fine for past glitches in the sportsbook within its Red Rock Resort property. The settlement was agreed with the Nevada Gaming Control Board regulator two weeks ago and approved yesterday by the five-member Nevada gaming commission.

Station Casinos was fined for accepting wagers on events whose outcomes were already known. The practice is not permitted in Nevada. Station Casino had planned to contest the fine.

Jennifer Togliatti is the Chair for the Nevada Gaming Commission. She was obliged to review some documents submitted by Station Casinos. Station had intended to challenge the complaint.

Station Casinos was found guilty of four violations since 2018. The state was not deprived of any tax revenues. 167 wagering tickets were voided with the bets refunded.

Station Casinos was fined $250,000 less than the $2 million penalty levied against CG Technology Holding in 2018. CG Tech was also fined by the Nevada Gaming Commission in 2014.
