Has pushing your luck ever made you a millionaire? Well, a woman in the USA's South Carolina, who scored a Rs. 1.9 crore jackpot in 2020 won another jackpot of Rs. 1.5 crore last week with a ticket she bought from the same store.
The woman purchased a “20X The Money” scratch-off ticket from the Spring Valley Convenience Store in the city of Columbia and won the top prize of Rs. $200,000 last week, according to the South Carolina Education Lottery.
She took home another $250,000 prize from another scratch-off lottery ticket she got at the same convenience store in 2020. What’s more, the two-time winner was accompanied by the same people both the times that she won the lottery.
What are the odds? Stuff like this really makes some people superstitious, especially when the stakes are this high.
"I had a lot of fun with the first winnings and enjoyed every bit of it," the woman told SCEL. "This time I'm going to buy a house."
Just last month, a man’s trip to the grocery store turned out to be a life-changing errand when he won $2 million (or more than Rs. 15 crore) without intending to buy a ticket in the first place.
“I ran out of milk, and I needed it for my morning coffee,” the winner recounted with the South Carolina state lottery agency.
He was on his way out of a Food Lion store when he looked over at the customer service counter to notice a Powerball ticket and casually decided to buy it.
However, when he looked up his ticket number online the next day, the lucky winner found he had become crorepati, times 15.
