The Powerball jackpot has hit $400 million ahead of the Christmas Day drawing.
The drawing will be Saturday, Dec. 25, at 11 p.m., and the cash option for the prize is an estimated $292 million.
The last time a player won the Powerball drawing was Oct. 4. A ticket sold in California won the buyer $699.8 million.
Powerball tickets are $2 each and can be played in 45 states, Washington D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. They can be purchased until 9:50 p.m. Saturday at Mass Lottery retailers across the state.
There is no broadcast partner in Massachusetts. Instead, those interested can see the drawn numbers appear on the Powerball website or watch online through the game’s YouTube channel.
