Mass. State Lottery winner: $1 million Powerball ticket sold at Springfield Stop & Shop
Seven winning tickets, including two worth $1 million, were pulled in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s Powerball drawing on Saturday, Oct. 7.
The two $1 million tickets were sold at the AL Prime, located at 2083 Bridge St. in Dracut, and the Stop & Shop on Riverdale Street in West Springfield, according to the lottery.
In addition, a $150,000 prize was won off a ticket sold at the Lincoln Liquors in Bedford, the lottery reported.
Four $50,000 prizes were won off tickets sold at West Main Liquors in Dudley, Sun City Variety in Tyngsborough, Lincoln Liquors in Chelmsford and Encore Casino in Everett respectively.
The winning numbers from Saturday’s drawing were 47, 54, 57, 60, 65 and Powerball: 19. The total Powerball jackpot was an estimated $1.40 billion, according to the lottery. Since no one took home the grand prize, the jackpot now grows to an estimated $1.55 billion.
The game works by players choosing five numbers between 1-69. Numbers are chosen either manually or randomly through a Quic Pic ticket. Each ticket costs $2.
If a player’s ticket matches all five numbers in the drawing, then they win the jackpot. Powerball drawings occur every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m.
Overall, there at least 288 winning lottery tickets worth $600 or more won or claimed in Massachusetts on Saturday, including four in Springfield and five in Worcester.
The Massachusetts State Lottery releases a full list of all the winning tickets each day. The list only includes winning tickets worth more than $600.
