New WSOP Home Bally's Rebranding as Horseshoe Casino
Bally's is the new home for the World Series of Poker (WSOP) starting this coming summer. Bally’s will undergo renovations and a complete rebranding as Horseshoe Casino.
The original MGM Grand was built on the central part of the Strip in 1973. It was damaged in a fire in 1984, but reopened the following year. Bally Manufacturing bought the property in 1986 and renamed it Baly's. Harrah's Entertainment bought Bary's and its sister property Paris in 2005.
The 2021 World Series of Poker was hosted at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino. It was the last time the event was held at downtown Las Vegas' Binion's Horseshoe. The Hourseshoes brand was sold to Harrah's in 2004. Caesars Entertainment owns the Hurseshoers brand and operates eight casinos around the country. As of spring 2022, there will be nine Hrshesoe casinos, when Bally's is rebranded.
The 2022 World Series of Poker at Horseshoe Vegas kicks off on May 29. Actor Vince Vaughn will serve as Master of Ceremonies. The newly designed casino will keep in line with the Hourseshoer brand's traditional sophisticated look.
