Mega Millions jackpot at $122 million: Buy your tickets today
Tonight’s Mega Millions drawing takes place at 11 p.m. ET. With a jackpot of $122 million up for grabs, now is the time to buy your entries and hope for a big win!

At its core, Mega Millions is a really simple game. All you need to do for a single entry is select five white ball numbers—between 1 and 70 with no repeats—and a single Mega Ball number between 1 and 25.
Matching all six numbers wins you the jackpot. Matching fewer numbers can award smaller (but still substantial) prizes.
In truth, that’s just a small portion of Mega Millions’ game depth. There are numerous other things to keep in mind. Here are some of our tips and things to know about playing Mega Millions in Michigan.
A single regular entry into the Mega Millions drawing costs $2. However, you can add Megaplier to your ticket for $1 per entry. What does that do, exactly?
Megaplier is an add-on that multiplies any non-jackpot winnings by 2, 3, 4, or 5. For example, if you matched just the Mega Ball without matching any white balls, you’d normally win $2. But with Megaplier, you could multiply that win up to 5x, which would pay out $10 (covering the cost of your ticket and then some). The multiplier is random, drawn at the same time as the core numbers.
Megaplier does not apply to any jackpot winnings.
Mega Millions is flexible in terms of how many entries or drawings you enter into. The Michigan Lottery has various online purchase options. This includes the ability to select your numbers and purchase them for multiple future drawings. For example, you could select one line (six numbers) and apply them to the next 6 Mega Millions drawings. That way you don’t have to purchase entries into each drawing.
Similar to the tip above, Mega Millions allows you to buy multiple entries for a single drawing (or many future drawings). For example, you could build five lines and purchase them all at once, giving you five chances to win in the next drawing.
Your overall odds of winning something in a Mega Millions drawing are 1 in 24. Each winning level has different odds, though, as outlined here:
Remember, Megaplier will multiply any prizes except for the jackpot.
Also, keep in mind that purchasing multiple entries for a single drawing doesn’t increase your odds of winning. Instead, each individual entry has the exact same odds of winning.
Some lottery sites will list hot and cold numbers for the Mega Millions drawings. “Hot” numbers have been drawn frequently in recent drawings while “cold” numbers haven’t come up in a while.
According to mathematical theory, hot and cold numbers hold no water and aren’t helpful in determining which numbers you should pick. Lottery games are pure chance, and they can’t be gamed to give yourself an edge. Always play responsibly.
You can also purchase Mega Millions tickets in person at hundreds of retail vendors across the state. To do so, get a play slip from the cashier or the container attached to a lottery vending machine. Fill out the play slip with your selections and return it to the cashier or run it through the machine. You’ll get a printed ticket with your numbers on it. Sign it and keep it safe until the drawing is over!
