The Mega Millions jackpot is currently at $36 million. There’s a drawing today, August 15, at 11 p.m. ET. You can buy tickets up to 15 minutes before the drawing.
Here’s a rundown of the most commonly asked questions about the Mega Millions drawing in Michigan.
Mega Millions is a multi-state draw game. To play, you need to select six numbers: five white ball numbers between 1 and 70 (no repeats), then a single gold Mega Ball between 1 and 25. You can select the numbers manually or have the system select them for you randomly.
If your ticket matches all five white ball numbers and the Mega Ball for the drawing you applied it to, you’ll win the jackpot and split it with any other winners.
Matching fewer balls gets you non-jackpot prizes.
Megaplier is a $1 add-on per entry that multiplies non-jackpot winnings by up to 10x. The 10x multiplier is only available when the advertised jackpot is lower than $150 million. If the jackpot is higher than that, the maximum Megaplier is 5x.
You can purchase tickets for the Mega Millions online via the Michigan Lottery app or website. You just need to create an account by providing some personal details, including:
- First and last name
- Address
- Phone number
- Government-issued photo ID
- Social security number
Once your account is verified, you can buy tickets online.
Every Mega Millions entry (six selected numbers) is called a “line,” and each line costs $2. You can add Megaplier to your entries for $1 per line.
Mega Millions drawings occur on Tuesdays and Fridays at 11 p.m. ET. Can’t watch live? No worries, you can check the winning numbers later.
You can buy tickets until 15 minutes before the drawing.
