Deborah Warren and Gerald Francis of Elliot Lake are celebrating after winning a $250,000 top prize with Instant Crossword Deluxe (Game #2244).
Gerald, 59 and Deborah, 69, said they have been playing the lottery for decades and are lovers of all Instant games. In fact, this is their third big win on Instant tickets. They won $1 million eight years ago and $250,000 two years ago!
“I was at home playing my ticket when I saw we won, but I thought we won $2,500,” shared Deborah while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up their winnings. “I told Gerald and he came over to double check. He saw I missed a few words and recounted. We were surprised to see we won $250,000!”
“This feels fabulous! It’s a warm fuzzy feeling for us because we like to give back,” said Deborah. “It feels good to win,” added Gerald. “But I feel better when I take care of others,” he said. They both admit this will be a good Christmas for their family.
“Deborah does a lot of shopping for the food bank,” Gerald said. “We also make donations to local medical charities. For us, treating ourselves is helping others in need in our community. I’ll be dropping off toiletries and cleaning supplies for the food bank,” concluded Deborah.

Instant Crossword Deluxe is available for $10 a play and the top prize is $250,000. Odds of winning any prize are 1 in 3.45.
The winning ticket was purchased at Hillside Shop and Save on Hillside Drive in Elliot Lake.
