Markham retiree wins $758K jackpot

Karl Killingbeck of Markhamwas struck by the Lightning Lotto jackpot on April 9, 2022.The top prize had grown to $758,594.90before it was won! Karl also won $4 on another one of his Lightning Lotto selections, bringing his total winnings to $758,598.90!
The retiree has been playing the lottery for over 30 years. "I won about $3,000 on LOTTO 6/49 a long time ago and won $2,500 a couple years ago," he shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his cheque.
The father and grandfather said when he saw Big Winner appear on the lottery terminal, it took a few minutes for it to sink in. "My wife didn't believe me when I told her," he laughed.
He plans to pay some bills, travel and share with family.
