Live-dealer possibility for New Mexico
Lawmakers in New Mexico are considering a bill that would allow live-dealer games at commercial horseracing tracks. There are five such venues in the state.
Ray Lara proposed a measure that would allow live-dealer facilities to be transformed into fully-fledged casinos. He claims it could generate up to $40 million a year and $15 million of that could go towards the state's struggling Lottery Scholarship Fund.
Bill Lara's co-sponsored by New Mexico State Senator Bill O’Neil calls for horseracing tracks in the communities of Sunland Park, Ruidoso, Hobbs, Farmington and Albuquerque to be managed and operated by the New Mexican Lottery. The proposal will be considered over the course of the state”s current 60-day legislative session.
