Shippensburg to soon feature a ‘miniature casino’
Greenwood Gaming and Entertainment Incorporated has been awarded with a license to bring a 73,000 sq ft ‘satellite casino’ to Shippensburg. The unanimous decision from the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board comes almost four years after the casino operator paid approximately $8.1 million so as to secure the Category Four gambling license for Cumberland County.
Parx Casino in Shippensburg will soon feature a mini-casino. Greenwood Gaming and Entertainment Incorporated owns the Parx. ParX generated more than $56 million in November.
The GW Cumberland Operating Company will begin a $65 million renovation of a former Lowe's Home Supply store in the Shippen Town Center shopping complex from next month. It hopes to open its Parx-branded miniature casino for Shippersburg by the end of the year.

The facility could create as many as 125 full-time jobs and will look to secure a state-sanctioned sportsbetting license.
Shippensburg Parx property will become the fifth 'satellite casino' to open in Pennsylvania.
November gross revenues from gaming and fantasy contests reached almost $432.5 million. The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board recorded a rise of 52% year-on-year.
