LEESBURG, VA — It's hard to sleep after winning a Virginia Lottery jackpot. That's what a high school english teacher from Leesburg told lottery officials as she claimed her prize.

Lisa Levy won $358,057 from the Virginia Lottery's online game "The Lamp." She claimed her oversized check last month.

Levy said she was sitting in bed one night when she opened the Virginia Lottery app on her phone to unwind. She played The Lamp and won the jackpot.

"I'm flabbergasted," Levy told lottery officials. "There are no words!"

Levy said she plans to use her winnings to pay off her son's student loans.

The Lamp is an online game through the Virginia Lottery's website or app that features a growing jackpot. The odds of winning a prize in the game are 1 in 3.55.

Virginia Lottery profits support schools throughout the state. In 2022, Loudoun County schools received $24.2 million in funding from the lottery. The Virginia Lottery provides about 10 percent of the budget for schools in the state.
