Parx Casino Shippensburg will delay its originally planned November 2022 opening by several months. The grand opening will be in February 2023.

Greenwood's new casino in Pennsylvania is being built on the former Lowe's building. It will be one of the largest casinos managed by Greenwood Gaming & Entertainment. The project will include 500 slot machines, 48 electronic table games and a sports bar and restaurant.
Greenwood Gaming & Entertainment bought a category four license for a satellite casino. The application for the category 4 license was approved in January 2021. Construction of the Parx Casino Shippensburg began the following month.
Parx has a Category Four gambling license for Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. It will build a small satellite casino with 700 slots and 50 table games. The project requires a larger Category 2 license with construction of unlimited number of casinos.
Some large U.S. iGaming companies are building satellite casinos in Pennsylvania. The Cordish Companies, owners of Live! The casino, opened a “satellite” casino in November 2020. Penn Entertainment, better known as Penn National Gaming, was the first company to receive a Category 4 license in the state.
