Cops nab eight men in Dang Wangi online gambling raid

KUALA LUMPUR: Eight men were detained following a raid on an illegal online gambling den along Jalan Landak, off Jalan Pudu, here Friday (Aug 13).
Dang Wangi OCPD Asst Comm Noor Dellhan Yahaya said the eight men - five locals and three foreigners aged from 24 to 70 years old - were arrested during the raid conducted at about 4.30pm on Friday.
"We seized an array of items including 12 tablets, three mobile phones as well as a router and a modem.
"Initial investigations revealed the five local men were gamblers while the three foreigners were workers at the gambling den," he said when contacted on Saturday (Aug 14).
ACP Noot Dellhan said police will investigate the syndicate further.
"We hope those with information on any illegal gambling activity can contact the Dang Wangi police headquarters at 03-2600 2222 or the KL police hotline at 03-2115 9999 or the nearest police station," he added.
