KUALA LUMPUR: Police have busted an online gambling call centre following a raid at two condominiums here.
Wangsa Maju OCPD Supt Ashari Abu Samah, in a statement, said that the raids were conducted on Aug 12, along Jalan Wangsa Kuarza.
"Three workers, including two local women, were arrested. It is believed that the group had started their operations early this year.
"The police also seized three computers, 56 handphones and other equipment believed to have been used in their operations," he said on Friday (Aug 13).
Investigations showed that the group was hired by a crime syndicate to operate the calling centre.
Rentals for the two condo units were around RM2,000 a month.
They would promote their services by using social media.
