Consumentenbond slates gambling advertising code as 'no good'
Consumentenbond objects to the gambling advertising code proposed by the advertising commission. The code is not stringent enough to protect vulnerable players. Online gambling becomes legal on Friday. The plan included a limit of three ads per television advertising block. It also included an audience made up of 30% of children and adolescents.
Two companies owned by the Dutch state have been given a licence to provide online gambling in the Netherlands from October 1. Fair Play and BetCity also won licences.
