Authorities crack down on illegal online gambling in Phnom Penh
Local authorities have cracked down on illegal online gambling dens in Phnom Penh’s Daun Penh district.
The crackdown came as they violated the administrative measures and Health Ministry’s measures.
Deputy Governor of Daun Penh district, Mok Chankaruna, yesterday led a joint force to crack down on seven illegal online gambling dens. Owners were arrested and will be sent to the Phnom Penh Municipal Court.
The owners violated the Health Ministry’s instructions by allowing dozens of players to come and played, officials said, noting the move was also aimed at preventing the Covid-19 spread.
