$28,000 And $25,000 Winning Lottery Tickets Remain Unclaimed In Joppa and Carney
PERRY HALL - Some Baltimore County residents are missing out on a big payday.
According to Maryland Lottery officials, two big winning tickets that were recently sold remain unclaimed.
A winning $28,449 FAST PLAY Goldfish progressive jackpot ticket was sold on November 18 at J. Convenience, located at 8765 Satyr Hill Road in Carney.
A winning $25,000 Pick 5 ticket was sold on November 19 at Joppa Carroll Motor Fuels, located at 910 Philadelphia Road in Joppa.
Lottery winners (draw games) have 182 days from the drawing to collect their prize, and scratch-off winners have 182 days from the “end-of-game date.”
According to Powerball, unclaimed tickets are reentered into the lottery pool.
"Unclaimed prizes are kept by the lottery jurisdiction. If a Grand Prize goes unclaimed, the money must be returned to all lotteries in proportion to their sales for the draw run. The lotteries then distribute the money, based on their own jurisdiction's laws, to other lottery games or to their jurisdiction's general fund, or otherwise as required by law."
