South Shore casinos see big gain in September; Statewide revenues down 22 percent

STATELINE, Nev. - Nevada’s non-restricted gaming licensees reported a total “gaming win” of $821,132,375 for the month of September 2020, the fourth month of casinos reopening in the state after being closed due to the coronavirus. This amounts to a 22.38 percent decrease compared to September 2019, when licensees reported a gaming win of $1,057,935,421, according to the monthly report released by the Nevada Gaming Control Board.

The twenty-two percent decrease is almost identical to the loss experienced the prior month for the state.

Casinos on the South Shore of Lake Tahoe had a "win" of $24,796,199, up 36.32 percent from September 2019. This was the biggest gain in the state, and was one of the few regions that saw an increase in the win.

The "gaming win" represents the computed income of casinos before business expenses and taxes.

The State has collected $304,642,789 in percentage fees to date for the fiscal year which began July 1.

Washoe County posted a gain in their win by 3.39 percent, but the North Lake Tahoe portion of the county saw a drop of 8.77 percent. ,

The North Shore casinos show a win of $2,348,403 with the whole county at $78,822,688.

The Carson Valley casinos had a win of $9,871,060, almost one-percent up from the same month in 2019.

Douglas County, including the South Shore, casinos reported a "win" of $5,596,000 on table games, $19,200,000 on slot machines in September.
