Monthly gaming report: South Shore down almost 4% from a year ago, Nevada up 11.15%
Nevada’s nonrestricted gaming licensees reported a total “gaming win” of $1,237,272,530 for the month of January 2023, according to the Nevada Gaming Control Board's monthly report released today. This amounts to an 11.5 percent increase compared to January 2022, when licensees reported a gaming win of $1,113,133,855. For the fiscal year to date (July 1, 2022 through January 31, 2022), the gaming win has increased by 5.55 percent.
The "gaming win" represents the computed income of casinos before business expenses and taxes.
For Lake Tahoe's south shore, the "win" revenue was $18,907,128, a 3.89 percent decrease from January 2022. For their fiscal year, revenue win is up by 18.83 percent when compared to the previous period. The South Shore fiscal year-to-date is $179,489,292.
On the south shore, $7,382,000 came from table games and $18,907,000 from slots.
Carson Valley area casinos reported a $9,652,981 gaming win, down 11.92 percent. On the North Shore, the reported gaming win of $2,081,750 was down 3.47 percent. The Tahoe Biltmore closed in April 2022.
Casinos in Reno, Sparks, and other areas of Washoe County mostly saw gaming-related revenue with a drop from last year, with Sparks seeing the only gain, up 4.92 percent, and the county as a whole, down 8.08 percent.
Year-to-date, Nevada has collected $722,511,946 in percentage fee collections.
