One lucky resident could be the winner of the £1 million EuroMillions jackpot as the winning ticket has gone unclaimed.

With only a month left to claim the ticket, which was purchased in Cheshire East, the clock is ticking on the the life-changing sum, reports the Macclesfield Express, Macclesfield, Cheshire.

The winning ticket comes from the EuroMillions UK Millionaire Maker draw on March 12 and the winning code was JZLP 20395.

A last-ditch search is now underway to find the ticket-holder, as the deadline to claim the prize is September 8.

Camelot’s Andy Carter, senior winners’ advisor at The National Lottery, said: “Time really is running out for the winner of this prize, but we are still hopeful that someone will come forward at the very last minute to claim the money.

“We’re urging everyone to check their old tickets one final time or look anywhere a missing EuroMillions ticket could be hiding. This life-changing prize could really help to make dreams become a reality for someone out there.”

Residents are being encouraged to check their tickets online at national-lottery.co.uk or by downloading the National Lottery app, and to buy or check their tickets in retail in line with government guidance.

Andy added: “Playing online via the website or app means that your ticket is checked, and you get an email notification if you win a prize. You can also scan your retail tickets on the National Lottery app to check if you're a winner.

“If you have the winning ticket call the National Lottery Line on 0333 234 5050 to claim.”

If no-one comes forward with the winning ticket before the prize claim deadline, then the prize money, plus all the interest it has generated, will go to help National Lottery-funded projects across the UK.

This includes supporting charities across the country as well both Olympic and Paralympic Team GB athletes.

National Lottery players generate an average of £36M each week for National Lottery-funded projects.

To date, over £43BN has been raised and distributed to National Lottery good causes through more than 635,000 individual grants.
