EIGHT £1m EuroMillions jackpot unclaimed after millions won in huge draw as Brits urged to check their tickets
BRITS are being urged to check their lotto tickets after EIGHT punters who scooped a jaw-dropping £1million are yet to come forward.
The special EuroMillions European Millionaire Maker made 100 people instant millionaires on Friday - with 24 of the prizes won by UK players.
And while 17 players have claimed their eye-watering winnings already, there are still EIGHT more people yet to claim their life-changing prize.
Andy Carter, Senior Winners’ Advisor at The National Lottery, said the hunt is on to find the winners.
He said: "You could be sat on £1M and not even know it.
“We urge players to check their emails and tickets to see if they have amazing news. What an incredible surprise it would be to realise you’ve started 2022 as a millionaire.”
To check their tickets, the National Lottery said to either check their tickets online at national-lottery.co.uk or by downloading the National Lottery app.
Players can also buy and check their tickets in retail and be scanned on the app to check if they are a winner.
Online players who played via the website or app means that their ticket is checked and will receive an email if they won.
For any prizes that remain unclaimed, on the sixth day after the draw (Thursday 27 January), the method of play - online or retail - will be released.
For all major prizes, £50,000 and above won in retail, the area in which any outstanding tickets were purchased will be released approximately two weeks after the draw if unclaimed.
With all National Lottery draws, players have 180 days from the day of the draw to claim their prize if they have the winning ticket.
For anyone who has any queries or believes they have the winning ticket for any of the National Lottery draws should call the National Lottery Line on 0333 234 5050 or email help@national-lottery.co.uk.
