Rio Las Vegas debuts new light show following renovation
LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) - The Rio Hotel & Casino is getting a new look, lighting up the Las Vegas skyline.
The property announced it has a new installation of over three miles of programmable LED lights “to create an ever-evolving light show.” The property collaborated with lighting designers Chris Kuroda and Andrew Giffin to create the new facade.
“The transformation of the Rio Hotel & Casino has reached a key milestone with the recently renovated exterior.” Trevor Scherrer, President of Rio, said in a statement. “For decades red and blue neon have been a staple of this iconic property. Led by the creative vision of Chris Kuroda, this new lighting experience is sure to reinforce to both visitors and locals alike that something truly special is happening at the Rio.”
According to a news release, the Rio’s new exterior will serve as a “blank canvas” for different light shows, claiming “no two shows will ever be the same.”
A news release didn’t specify if the lights are activated at a certain time or how long the lights run.
