Rank Group’s eyes down for a full house of new gambling regulations
Rank Group wants the government to kickstart the modernisation of casinos and bingo halls in its review of gambling regulation, describing it as a “once in a generation opportunity”.
The gambling operator said that 51 of its 52 Grosvenor casinos were licensed under the 1968 Gambling Act and it called for the relaxation of rules on gaming machines, electronic table games and sports betting.
It said that the old rules restricted those casinos to 20 machines, compared with 80 for those few venues operating under the 2005 act. It also called for consumers to be allowed to play cashless games, both in casinos and bingo halls.
