Parx Casino, Bensalem, was the leading gaming site in Pennsylvania revenue for July 2021.

Pennsylvania casino revenues hit the jackpot for July. Its one-month record of $423 million signifies good times for PA gaming industry, especially with Parx leading the state’s 15 licensed casinos. Megan Tomasic rolls through the data for TribLive.

The July 2021 results were a whopping $35 million more than the $388.8 million generated in June. It is also significantly higher than last year’s July performance ($283 million) when COVID-19 restrictions tamped down capacity levels and some casinos temporarily closing outright.

Parx Casino, Bensalem, outperformed all other gaming institutions statewide, bringing in $64 million for the month.

Across the Commonwealth, revenue data show that pent-up demand helped drive numbers. Gamblers eagerly returned to in-person gaming, as reflected in the performance figures.

In casinos across the state, retail slot machine revenues — those which players fed in person — totaled $222.8 million; retail table games generated $86.9 million

Their virtual versions proved less profitable. Online slots produced $63.2 million; online table games raked in $22.8 million. Online poker bets put $2.59 million into casino coffers.

Retail and online sports wagering generated $19.85 million last month, which was up significantly from July 2020, when revenues reached $8.1 million.

Analysis of the revenue noted a year-over-year drop in sports betting; however, industry analysts cite that summer-season dips are common.
