The money is from unclaimed progressive jackpots from tables and slot machines.
Nevada law says that players are obligated to receive progressive jackpots, and that remaining funds must be paid out before a casino closes.
For slot machines, the iconic casino says it will give away $200,000 in guaranteed winnings each day through July 11; $250,000 on July 12 and 13, and on July 16th, $100,000.
The additional $400,000 will be given away in table game jackpots.
The Mirage opened on the Vegas Dtrip in 1989.
It will be transformed into a new Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, set to open in 2027.
