The $6.25 billion sale of the Venetian and Palazzo by Las Vegas Sands Corp. to Apollo Global Management and VICI Properties has closed. It marks the end of Sands’ presence in Las Las. The company is now focusing on its resorts in Macau, Singapore and Pennsylvania.

The El Cortez casino in downtown Las Vegas is going adults only. It's the third casino to adopt the policy. Circa and the Cromwell are the other two.

Boyd ­Gaming will invest $50 million to upgrade the 66-year-old Fremont casino. The main change will be an expansion of the casino, incorporating the former buffet space and the closed keno lounge.

The spring display at Bellagio’s Conservatory &Botanical Garden is themed for various forms of flight. It includes butterflies, hummingbirds, jumping frogs, hot-air balloons and a vintage airship. The display will remain in place through May 14 and is free to view.

Gonzaga is the favorite to win the NCAA Basketball Championship. Arizona and Kentucky are also betting favorites. Texas Southern, Texas A&M Corpus Christi and Wright St. are long shots.
