Japan is going to punish players at offshore gambling websites. It's the first time a country has openly held gamblers accountable for participating in gambling sites that are unregulated. The update issued on Monday by Japan’s National Police Agency and Consumer Affairs Agency said that the country will treat participation in illegal operated gambling website as a crime.
Japan is getting closer to the release of the first Integrated Resort project. Anyone assisting others to access overseas casinos and gambling websites will be held under stricter regulatory norms. This comes at a time when Macau is trying to break away from its reputation as a gambling hub and focus on more family-friendly tourism.
