Great Canadian Gaming opens casino at Pickering Casino Resort
Great Canadian Gaming has announced the opening of the casino at its newest property, the Pickering Casino Resort.
The new resort will be able to accept customers as the operator aims to recover from the pandemic.
Terrance Doyle, Great Canadian Gaming’s Interim CEO, said: "The opening of the casino at Pickering Casino Resort is yet another step towards our company's recovery from the impact of Covid-19 and means another 600 jobs created in the Durham Region in this first phase of the property's opening.”
In addition, once Covid health and safety restrictions have been lifted, the property will feature around 2,400 slot machines and just under 100 live table games.
There will also be around 140 live dealer gaming terminals and 10 dining options.
The operator has said that during the first phase of the opening, the gaming floor and dining areas will operate at a reduced capacity to meet social distancing requirements.
Doyle added: "This will be Great Canadian's 25th property currently operating in Canada and the first casino resort opened in Ontario in 16 years, and I would like to thank all the hard work invested by our team, our contractors and other important stakeholders who have helped us achieve this incredible milestone.”
Earlier this month, the group announced it will be reopening 12 Ontario-based venues as the local Government eases lockdown restrictions.
The Great Canadian Gaming Corporation is an Ontario-based group that operates 25 gaming, entertainment and hospitality venues across Canada.
