One Toronto Gaming hosting career fair for Pickering Casino and Ajax Casino
One Toronto Gaming, a partnership formed by Great Canadian Gaming Corporation and Brookfield Business Partners, is hosting its second career fair this year, for jobs at the Pickering Casino Resort and Ajax Casino. The operator of the two gambling venues previously held a fair in August to help staff the recently-opened Pickering facility.
Set to take place on October 20 and 21 at the Pickering Casino Resort, Ontario, the new career fair sees more than 300 positions available. The first day will focus on hiring table games dealers (full and part-time) for Pickering, reports In Durham.
Table game dealers will be responsible for providing customer service and conducting all table games in a “precise, efficient and secure manner” according to policies and procedures. Dealer training will be provided for candidates who are successful through the screening, interview and assessment phase.
On day two, One Toronto will get to the rest of the positions for Casino Ajax and Pickering Casino Resort. These include full-time executive hosts and facilities supervisors, full and part-time gaming hosts, count attendants, security officers, stewards, housekeeping, facilities maintenance and shipper/receivers, as well as part-time first, second and third cooks, guest service representatives and cage cashiers.
According to the operator, One Toronto offers its employees a comprehensive benefits package, including vision and dental. A retirement program with matching company contributions, company perks and discounts, flexible hours and competitive hours are also part of the deals.
Applicants must show proof of fully vaccinated status for entry at the fair. Participants are considered fully vaccinated 14 days after receiving the second dose. Face coverings, physical distancing and other health and safety protocols will be in effect during the event.
Opened on July 26, Pickering Casino Resort became the first casino in Ontario in 16 years. Its first phase launched with a gambling floor and food and beverage amenities with reduced occupancy levels, and eventually it is expected to have 2,400 slot machines, nearly 100 live table games, and 140 “live dealer” stadium gaming terminals.
"The opening of the casino at Pickering Casino Resort is yet another step towards our company's recovery from the impact of COVID-19 and means another 600 jobs created in the Durham Region in this first phase of the property's opening,” said that month Interim Chief Executive Officer Terrance Doyle of Great Canadian, which in partnership with Brookfield Business Partners conform One Toronto Gaming.
Pickering Casino Resort is Great Canadian’s 25th property currently operating in Canada.
