FanDuel Online Casino Now Available In West Virginia

FanDuel Online Casino joins the growing West Virginia iGaming market.
FanDuel has launched its online casino app in West Virginia, becoming the fourth app to launch in the Mountain State. The operator joins a market that includes BetMGM Casino, BetRivers Casino, and DraftKings online casino. FanDuel gained market access in West Virginia via a partnership with The Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs, and the app officially launched on Wednesday. The app is available on both iOS and Android devices in addition to the web for casino players in or visiting the state.
The casino app will offer players classic games such as blackjack, roulette, slots, and many more. New customers in West Virginia can sign up for a new account or log in using their existing FanDuel sportsbook/fantasy sports credentials.
Niall Connell, general manager of sportsbook and casino at FanDuel, said they are “excited” to bring the casino app to West Virginia in what is their fourth online casino state. With their current footprint with FanDuel Sportsbook, Connell stated that expanding their online presence via its online casino offering to West Virginia will allow their customers “to have a more robust online gaming experience.” The FanDuel casino app is already live in Michigan, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.
FanDuel also revealed that new casino players in the Mountain State could claim their first day risk-free up to $200. In addition, the operator will refund any net losses up to a value of $200 during the first 24 hours of play once someone has made their first real money casino wager. The losses will be refunded in the form of casino site credit.
WV Casino Market Continues to Grow
West Virginia’s online casino market launched last July. DraftKings was the first to enter the market via a partnership with Hollywood Casino at Charles Town. BetMGM soon followed in August through a partnership with The Greenbrier. The online casino market in West Virginia continues to grow, with the industry doubling in less than a month.
On April 12, BetRivers.com was launched. The operator has an agreement with Century Casinos’ Mountaineer Park, which was announced to the world in December. The total iGaming handle in West Virginia for March was posted as $152.5 million, an increase of 30.4% from February’s $117 million. In addition, revenue generated from iGaming in March was $5 million, up 44.9% from February’s $3.5 million.
Many states are now opening up to legal sports betting, but the uptake to legalize online casino gaming is lagging far behind. More states are looking to legalize regulated online casino gaming, with Illinois one of the main contenders to do so soon.
