Nevada is home to more casinos than anywhere else in the United States. Many of these casinos have pushed against a controversial new plan being discussed in Nevada. Lawmakers seem interested in expanding the number of gaming options available in this state.

Nevada's gambling revenue has plummeted since last year. The state's Control Board will soon meet to discuss whether or not to allow online gambling here. New Jersey and Pennsylvania already allow all forms of online betting. It seems likely that the discussion will take place before the end of the year, but not everyone is happy about it.

Executives from 26 different gaming companies signed a letter against online gambling in Nevada. They argue that it will hurt their business. The decision will be made by the NV Gaming Board. The state government body will make the final decision.

Reduced jobs in physical gaming locations will hurt the gaming industry and Nevada's economy, the letter claims.

Las Vegas has been the country's biggest gambling hub for many years. The casinos have been reporting massive increases in their tourism and gaming revenue figures over the past eight months. Last July, Nevada's gaming revenues surpassed the $1 billion mark for the fourth-straight month.
