England Casinos Prepare to Drop COVID-19 Restrictions
Almost all COVID-19 restrictions will end on Monday, July 19. This will allow England's casinos and betting shops to end restrictions for the first time since the pandemic began in March last year.
PM Johnson announced restrictions lifting on Twitter earlier this month. Wales and Northern Ireland will review their own limits on July 8 and July 15. Scotland will keep its rules in place until at least August 9. First Minister Nicola Sturgeon also announced that all of Scotland’s hospitality venues, including casinos, must close their doors at midnight starting July 19.
England is removing almost all restrictions on Monday. This includes an end to social distancing measures, mandatory mask-wearing policies and capacity limitations for casinos and betting shops. The removal of COVID restrictions is good news for horseracing venues.

The gaming industry body posted a video in which its chairman Brigid Simmonds visited Blackpool’s Grosvenor Casino as it prepared for the July 19 restriction removal.
Scotland will enter level 0 of its lockdown reopening plan on Monday. First Minister Nicola Strurgeon's directive requires casinos to adhere to a midnight curfew.
