Las Vegas welcomed almost 2.9 million tourists in May. The tourism industry is recovering after a slump.  The figure is 1,802% higher than in the same 31-day period in 2020.

The May figure is 22% down on the 3.6 million visitors Las Vegas welcomed in May of 2019. The area's tourist-friendly economy was thrown into turmoil owing to the impacts of the coronavirus pandemic. Most of Las Las's casinos and hotels have since re-opened and are able to operate at full capacity.
